UK Olympics Minister Jeremy Hunt is to open this year’s WTM, it has been announced.
In his opening speech Hunt will discuss the government’s tourism plans for the Olympics and the legacy its GREAT campaign will leave. WTM also revealed Hunt will be joined by a high-profile sporting guest and the sport themed opening is part of a general show-wide thread throughout the four-day event.
“The minister’s involvement in WTM demonstrates both the role travel and tourism will play in the success of the games and the importance of WTM to the sector,” said Fiona Jeffery, chairman of WTM.
