The Association of Cruise Experts’ (ACE) inaugural RiverCruise Expo has been hailed a success by the association and attendees. More than150 travel agents and 100 suppliers attended the event in Amsterdam, with only sevendelegates missing out due to delayed flights caused by foggy conditions.
AndyHarmer, director of ACE said the event was a testament to the sector’s growth,which has doubled its number of ships in recent years and is expected to expandfurther than ocean liners next year.
He said the association is to update itseducation programme for travel agents and hold forums across the country, aswell as boost its social media usage and remodel and UK Cruise Convention.
Ernie Skalsky, editor of Travel Daily’s Cruise News said the two-day event wasa huge success despite its logistics, which allowed travel agents to visit fiveships while in port.
