The winter flight schedule at Changi Airport, Singapore, sees an additional 280 weekly flights and 30,000 weekly one-way seats being made available to Southeast and Northeast Asia.
There is a proliferation of flights to key hubs in Southeast Asia, with 50 additional weekly flight to Bangkok and 42 additional weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur. Vientiane will also appear on the Changi departures board with three new weekly services by Lao Airlines. A further 6,700 one-way seats will be added on routes from Singapore to Beijing, Changsha, Chongqing, Guangzhou and Shanghai. Changi is now connected to 25 Chinese cities via more than 650 weekly flights. Meanwhile, frequencies to Japan are expected to return to pre-earthquake levels.
With the increase in frequencies, Changi Airport is set to serve more than 6,200 weekly flights by the end of March 2012. This is an increase of about 5%, compared to the over 5,900 weekly flights Changi handled at the end of the Northern-Summer 2011 season.
