Kosmopolito Hotels International (KHI) has expanded its mid-market Silka brand with the rebranding of a property in Kuala Lumpur.
The Maytower Hotel & Serviced Residences has been renamed the Silka Maytower Hotel & Serviced Residences Kuala Lumpur, becoming the company’s fifth Silka property in Asia and its first in the Malaysian capital.
“As Silka Hotels is fast becoming the marque for value-led hotels particularly in Asia, we are confident that being part of the Silka Hotels brand would further spur our presence in the market and enable us to reach out to a larger and greater global audience,” said the hotel’s General Manager, Roland Lai.
“Becoming the first hotel in Kuala Lumpur placed under the Silka Hotels brand and the fifth property within the increasingly recognisable brand; we are truly honoured with this milestone and will push our team to constantly exceed guest expectations,” he added.
The Maytower, which opened in 2008, features 193 rooms and suites. Following the rebrand, all rooms will now include brand standard amenities such as Wi-Fi and minibar items at supermarket prices.
“While Silka Hotels offers the perfect synergy in terms of facilities, guest services and location, it is more than just comfortable accommodation and convenient location as Silka Hotels also offers attractive shopping discounts and service privileges for hotel guests via its ‘Stay, Shop & Save’ programme,” said KHI’s President & Executive Director, Winnie Chiu.
Under this programme, hotels collaborate with local merchandisers to offer shopping discounts and service privileges for guests.
“By merely showing their room key card holder when they patronise participating merchandisers, guests can enjoy discounts and privileges throughout their stay with Silka Hotels,” explained Chiu.
The Silka brand is now present in Hong Kong, Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur, while KHI is present in nine cities across Greater China, Malaysia and Singapore.
