Dubai World intends to expand its global hotel presence, according to a Gulf News report. Chairman, Sultan Ahmad Bin Sulayem, told Gulf News in an interview that he identified China and India as key markets for future investment.
“We have had a lot of time to identify locations in China,” Bin Sulayem said, adding that India is also being considered. “Goa is going to be an important area.”
Bin Sulayem stated that Dubai World would maintain its strategy of investing in landmark hotels around the world, with uniqueness and exclusivity as their key qualities.
“Investment-wise, we are very selective,” Bin Sulayem was quoted as saying. “We want something with a competitive advantage.”
