Hong-Kong based Dragonair has announced that it will add a second passenger destination in India. The airline will launch a new service between Hong Kong and Kolkata, subject to government approval and the opening of the new airport terminal in Kolkata. This new service is planned to commence in winter 2012 with four flights a week operated by an Airbus A320.
Patrick Yeung, Chief Executive Officer of Dragonair said, “The launch of this new service to Kolkata marks an important step in building Dragonair’s presence in the Indian market, following the launch of flights in Bengaluru in 2008. The launch of yet another new route by Dragonair is also a significant step in enhancing Hong Kong’s role as a leading international aviation hub.”
