Qantas to boost domestic routes Qantas A330Qantas will boost its domestic routes later this year.The airline will increase the Airbus A330 services on its Perth–Melbourne route from 44 to 68 weekly flights from 15 October 2012, replacing the existing Boeing 767 flights. Thirty-seven of these will be operated using Qantas’ internationally-configured A330s, which features Skybed seats in business class and seatback in-flight entertainment systems in both cabins – business and economy.Qantas will also reintroduce B747 services on the Sydney-Perth route from 9 July 2012. The two-class aircraft offers internationally configured business and economy cabins.“Using internationally configured aircraft on domestic routes provides increased comfort on the longer routes between the eastern states and Perth and helps to further cement our position as Australia’s leading full service airline,” said Qantas Domestic CEO, Lyell Strambi.Qantas has also revealed plans to increase the frequency of its services between Sydney and Dallas-Fort Worth next month. From 1 July 2012, the airline will add one extra weekly flight on the Sydney-Dallas route, taking the total frequency to daily. The route is served using a three-class Boeing 747-400 aircraft.American Airlines codeshares with Qantas on the route.
