Marriott expands in Guangzhou

Marriott International has announced the opening of a new hotel in Guangzhou.

The Guangzhou Marriott Hotel Tianhe is located in the centre of the city’s Tianhe business district and offers 319 rooms and suites, all with ‘plug-and-play’ connectivity enabling guests to link their laptops and TVs, and high speed Wi-Fi.

“We expect Guangzhou Marriott Hotel Tianhe to raise the benchmark for upscale accommodation in this key region,” said Henry Lee, Senior Vice President for Marriott International in Greater China. “The popularity of the Marriott Hotels & Resorts brand continues to grow in China, and we are delighted to partner with Guangzhou Grandview Enterprise Co Ltd, the hotel’s owning company, to strengthen our presence in the country’s third-largest city with this landmark new opening.”

The hotel features three large atrium areas, as well as four restaurants, a health club, heated indoor pool, and 895m² of event space, including two pillarless ballrooms.

The Guangzhou Marriott Hotel Tianhe becomes the company’s third property in the city, following The Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou and The China Hotel, a Marriott Hotel Guangzhou.
