Peach launches Hong Kong flights
By Mark Elliott, 5 July 2012, Thursday 2:13 AM
New Japanese low-cost carrier Peach Aviation has launched flights to Hong Kong.
The new direct service between Peach’s home base at Osaka Kansai International Airport and Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) will operate daily using a 180-seat, single-class Airbus A320 aircraft. Hong Kong becomes Peach’s second international destination, following Seoul.
The route was launched yesterday with a ceremony at HKIA, overseen by Peach’s CEO, Shinichi Inoue.
“Today, we are very pleased that we are realising our vision of becoming a bridge between Japan and Asia. Peach Aviation is jointly invested by Japan corporations and First Eastern Investment Group from Hong Kong. Thus the launch of the Hong Kong route has special meaning to us. We believe Peach’s schedule and new service model can bring much convenience and flexibility to travelers, not only to Osaka but also other domestic destinations of Peach,” Inoue said.
Flights will depart Osaka at 2110 daily, while the return service leaves Hong Kong at 0050 the following day.
