TransAsia has announced plans to roll out a series of service upgrades from July onwards.

The airline recently opened another airport lounge at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport for business class passengers. With seating capacity for 60 passengers, the lounge features a live noodle-making station along with wines and cocktails. The lounge will also open its Oxygen Bar in September.

“In the past two years, we have been aggressively expanding both our fleet and network. To date, we have 29 new aircraft on order, in addition to the 18 we currently have in operation and have expanded to a total of 46 Asian routes currently in service,” said Vincent M Lin, Chairman of TransAsia Airways.

“We will now focus on further improving our software by providing better service and offering more value-added experience to our customers to give us the competitive edge. We are excited about the new changes” he added.

To provide better in-flight entertainment experience for medium-haul passengers, iPads will soon be available business class on all international routes, including Japan, Macau, Singapore, South Korea and Vietnam.

Other new service-oriented initiatives include a redesign of crew uniforms, overseen by Taiwanese designer Xia Peigun, as well as introducing fine dining on flights.
