Costa promotes Beniamino Maltese

Costa Crociere has promoted Beniamino Maltese to senior vice president and chief financial officer.
Maltese will be reporting directly to CEO of Costa Crociere Michael Thamm and charged with looking after accounting, treasury, control, taxation and legal matters for both the Costa and Iberocruceros Group.
The promotion is the latest move in a career which has seen Maltese stay with Costa for over thirty years. According to a company statement he has: “Played a significant part in the substantial growth and remarkable success that the group has recorded in the last 10 years, with a sixfold increase in sales and total guests.”
Maltese is an Economics graduate, chartered accountant and auditor. He joined Costa Crociere in 1981, was appointed financial director in 1992 and vice president and chief financial officer in 2004. Since 2008 he has also been chief financial officer of Iberocruceros, the Spanish branch of the Costa Crociere Group.
