Mike Arcamone, President of Bombardier Commercial Aircraft signs the deal with Wu Guanghui, Vice President of COMAC
COMAC and Bombardier have commenced ‘phase two’ of their working partnership, which will see further collaboration between the C919 and CSeries aircraft development programmes.
In the first phase of the scheme, the two planemakers have cooperated in several areas including cockpit crew interfaces, electrical systems, technical publications and the development of aluminium-lithium standards.
Now, COMAC and Bombardier have signed a deal exploring further collaboration in areas of product testing and certification.
COMAC’s C919 aircraft is on track to enter service in 2016 – two years after the introduction of Bombardier’s CSeries in 2014. Both aircraft will compete in the single-aisle, short- and medium-haul jet market, alongside the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.
