Avianca orders more Dreamliners

Boeing has sealed yet another order for its B787 Dreamliner.
Colombian national carrier Avianca Airlines has placed an order for three more Dreamliners, valued at approximately US$620 million at published list prices.
This order brings Avianca’s total Dreamliner order to 15 aircraft, including the 12 B787s ordered in 2007. The total order value stands at more than US$3.1bn.
“Adding more 787s to our order aligns well with our expansion and service improvement plans for the airline,” said Avianca’s CEO, Fabio Villegas. “The range and efficiency of the airplane make it a great fit into our overall fleet plans, and the interior of the airplane will bring a unique flying experience to our passengers that only Avianca can provide.”
The B787s form part a major expansion of Avianca’s wide-body fleet. The airline has also ordered 10 Airbus A350-900s. Following the Avianca deal, Boeing has now secured 841 Dreamliner orders worth more than US$180bn at list prices.
