Thailand will introduce a new air passenger fee, as it seeks to fund a new automated immigration system.
The Bangkok Post reported that the country’s Civil Aviation Board has approved plans impose a THB50 (GBP1) fee from the middle of next year, for passengers both entering and leaving the country.
The charge will go towards paying for the Advance Passenger Processing (APP) system, which will allow passengers to scan their passports rather than having them stamped by immigration officials.
