National Ferry Fortnight is to be held between 2-16 March next year, it has been announced.
Thirteen ferry lines are to get behind the promotional campaign in 2013 to raise awareness of the industry. Promotions and deals will be launched to coincide with the fortnight, which will take on a ‘ferry familiar’ theme.
“We’ve chosen the new theme ‘ferry familiar’ to encourage even more people to get onboard and try ferry travel for the first time – having sailed once, we’re sure they will see the great benefits of ferry travel which include no hidden costs,” said Bill Gibbons, director of Passenger Shipping Association (PSA).
More than 34 million people travel by ferry each year.
