Ultra-luxury cruise line Crystal Cruises has announced that it is to offer an exclusive shore excursion to the set of The Hobbit where guests will enjoy a dining experience.
The excursion will take place on Crystal Symphony’s Australia and New Zealand cruise in December and again in January. The first Hobbit tour will be conducted just after the global release of the film.
The tour will also feature a guided tour of the huge set, a history of the construction and dinner in the ‘Green Dragon Inn’, which is featured in The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.
“We are always looking for unique, boutique ways for our guests to immerse themselves in a world different from their own,” said Crystal’s vice-president, land & port operations, John Stoll. “With The Hobbit opening mid-December, this is an extraordinarily timely opportunity for Crystal guests to be transported to a place that many fantasy-fiction genre fans, movie buffs, as well as wine and foodies, and off-the-beaten-path travellers, from around the globe can only dream of visiting.”
Prices for the tours start from US$265 per person.
