By Amanda Greenwood, 27 November 2012, Tuesday 11:49 AM
Qatar Airways has announced its Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights from Heathrow to Doha will commence on 13 December (a Thursday).
The service will be the first to operate regular scheduled flights from the UK and will be used on the 1505 service departing Heathrow landing 0045 in Doha the next day.
On the return route it will be used on the 0625 from Doha landing in Heathrow at 1105. Seats are available to book now.
“We are delighted at last with today’s announcement that in just over two weeks’ time, the UK market will see its first 787 on a regular full commercial service when it flies into London Heathrow,” said Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways.
“Inaugurating our 787 on the London Heathrow route puts Qatar Airways firmly on the global aviation map as a carrier with a determination to continue its expansion drive and improve an already superior in-flight product,” he added.
The carrier has received its second Dreamliner with another to join by the end of 2013. Qatar Airways has ordered 60 Dreamliners in total.
Qatar also announced it will increase its frequency too Perth, Australia from 1 December. The service will operate daily from Saturday after the positive start to its thrice-weekly service launch in July.
