Cadbury World has announced that it has received 600,000 visitors to date in 2012 – a new record for the attraction.
The figure, which represents a 6% year-on-year rise in footfall, was celebrated by awarding the 600,000th visitor with a special purple ticket.
Gerrard Baldwin, general manager at Cadbury World, said: “This marks Cadbury World’s best ever year for footfall and demonstrates how we’re continuing to grow in popularity since we first opened in 1990. Since that time, we have welcomed in excess of 11 million visitors.
“It has been fantastic to reach a new record of annual footfall at Cadbury World and the exclusive purple ticket giveaway was the perfect way to celebrate this achievement. Cadbury World is rich in British heritage which I think is something that has really appealed to visitors in a year that has celebrated the best of British, with high profile events such as the London 2012 Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.”
The 600,000th visitor, Victoria Wright, from Surrey was given the purple ticket which allowed her access to a personal private ‘behind the scenes’ tour, return family tickets for her family in 2013, a chocolate hamper and complimentary print.
