Royal Caribbean has announced that it is to begin offering drinks packages onboard its ships, mirroring the move made by its subsidiary, Celebrity Cruises, last week.
The line will now offer two packages – Classic and Premium – allowing guests to pay for their drinks at the beginning of their voyage.
“Royal Caribbean International is in the midst of an extensive revitalisation programme that will leave no ship untouched and includes enhancing the variety of new dining and beverage options for our guests,” said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, executive vice president, Operations, Royal Caribbean International. “The addition of these new beverage and culinary packages creates a seamless holiday experience for our guests, providing them with a greater selection of choices and delivering it to them at an incredible value and convenience.”
The Classic package will be available at US$45 per day and include beer, house wines, non-alcoholic cocktails, fountain soda and juices. The Premium package will cost US$55 per day and include frozen drinks and all cocktails in addition to the drinks offered on the Classic menu.
The packages are available on all seven night plus cruises and must be purchased by all guests aged 21 or over sharing a stateroom.
