An advisory board has been set up at Thomas Cook to improve its online capabilities and acquire new talent.
In what the operator called a “ground-breaking move”, the board will identify and provide advice on trends within the online business sector and how it can be applied as part of Thomas Cook’s strategy to return to profitability.
The board includes members from outside the group as well as group CEO Harriet Green and other management. Areas of discussion will include digital marketing and retail, SEO, mobile and social media.
“The DAB will make a significant contribution to the success of Thomas Cook. It, in addition to the Group’s executive team, includes an exceptional array of independent experts whose input will be invaluable to our activities,” said Green.
“A vital element in our transformation is the development and implementation of our digital strategy. We have already made progress in embedding our “high tech, high touch” ethos in the Group with the establishment of our Ecommerce Centre of Excellence (ECE), creating a hub of talented individuals to provide strong functional expertise and support for the Group across the overall online customer experience,” she added.
