Starwood to enter Nepal
Starwood will enter Nepal in 2018 with the launch of a new Sheraton hotel in Kathmandu.
The US hotel giant has signed a contract to manage the Sheraton Kathmandu Hotel, which will be located on the city’s main Kantipath road, close to the tourist area of Thamel.
“We continue to look for opportunities to grow Starwood’s brands in South Asia and are delighted to announce the signing of the Sheraton Kathmandu Hotel,” said Nikhil Manchharam, Starwood’s vice president of acquisitions & development for Asia Pacific. “Re-entering Nepal with the Sheraton brand is an exciting moment for us as we bring the Sheraton experience to the vibrant and bustling city of Kathmandu.”
Sheraton Kathmandu will offer 225 rooms plus four F&B outlets, a Link@Sheraton IT hub in the lobby, a business centre, spa, swimming pool and fitness centre. The property will also house more than 1,500m² of meeting space.
