CroisiEurope expands into canals

French river operator CroisiEurope has announced it is to launch a 24-passenger canal barge, which will operate through France from May.
The ms La Jeanine, which will offer English speaking itineraries, is fitted with 12 en-suite cabins, a lounge and dining room. The ship will sail on the Alsace canals and in Burgundy until the season finishes in October.
Canal cruises have been rising in popularity of late, with many operators offering luxury experiences throughout the region’s waters. While not a traditional holiday, the canals have enjoyed a renaissance on the back of the surge in popularity undergone within the river sector.
Prices start from EUR1,551 per person, which includes drinks with meals, entertainment, excursions, use of onboard bicycles and taxes.
