Angry Birds Activity Park is to open its doors to the public this Saturday (25 May) in Yorkshire’s Lightwater Valley.
The attraction will be open year-round in what has traditionally been a seasonal park and covers more than 30,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor equipment and games.
The new section has cost GBP1 million to develop and has already helped boost forward sales.
“In 2012 Angry Birds was the most popular paid-for app on Apple’s App Store, so when we were looking at a GBP1million investment in creating a new attraction here at the park it was clearly a popular choice,” said Allan Leech, chief executive at Lightwater Valley.
“We are already seeing an increase in advanced ticket sales and anticipate making a GBP2.5million impact to the region’s economy over the next five years,” he added.
