MATTHEW VARLEY has been appointed Chief Operating Officer for Wego.com in Asia Pacific and Middle East. Varley will report to Wego.com CEO and Co-Founder Ross Veitch and will be based at the company’s global headquarters in Singapore. With three years of experience in South East Asia based in Bangkok, Varley managed operations of Wotif Group’s Asia business, expanding the team to nine offices and localizing the product across Asian markets, inventory procurement and customer service.
MANSOUR AL MARZOUQI has been appointed general manager in Belarus for Etihad Airways. Al Marzouqi held several key positions in sales and business development in the UAE before being appointed General Manager of the Maldives in 2011. He will replace former general manager for Belarus, Paolo Greco, who is moving to Rome to take up the position of Partnership Alliance Manager to Alitalia.
GHEITHA SULEIMAN SALIM AL HOSNY has been appointed airport service manager at Abu Dhabi International Airport for Oman Air. Prior to her appointment in Abu Dhabi, Al Hosny began her career with Oman Air in 1994 as a lounge receptionist, rising to acting duty manager at Muscat International Airport.
LEON SALINEL has been appointed director of sales and marketing at Media One Hotel. He bring with him over 18 years experience in UAE in business development, staff selection, brand marketing, maintaining service and operational excellence. In his current role, Leon will look into operational efficiency in sales and marketing.
ANDREAS JERSABECK has been appointed general manager for Hilton Doha. He has been a general manager with Hilton Worldwide for over 16 years, acquiring international experience in over 11 countries. He joins Hilton Doha from Hilton Kiev where he was pre-opening general manager.
ALEX PICHEL has been appointed managing director for Managing Director for Al Faisaliah and Al Khozama hotels. He brings with him over 25 years of hospitality experience across Germany, Great Britain, France, Russia, Azerbaijan, UAE and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In his new role, Pichel will oversee the day-to-day operations and activities of both hotels, and implement the company’s growth strategy.
GARY DIGBY has been appointed outlet manager for Left Bank restaurant in Abu Dhabi. He brings with him over 15 years of hospitality experience. He was the manager of the busiest TGI Fridays in the world (Leicester Square in London), and his last position was as an area manager overseeing 10 hospitality sites across the UK and France.
MOHAMMAD KHALED has been appointed front office manager at Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea. Khaled brings with him over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry that he spent between KSA and Jordan.
