Yotel, the high-tech budget hotel concept, has announced plans to expand into Asia.
The company has unveiled plans to introduce a 600-room property on Singapore’s Orchard Road, as the first step towards a broader regional expansion. The hotel is due to open in 2018.
“Given Yotel is heavily inspired by Asian culture, it is fantastic that we are launching such an iconic project as our first project in Asia,” said Gerard Greene co-founder & CEO of Yotel.
“Yotel will bring a unique hotel experience to Singapore, it’s a perfect time for the city to embrace a new and exciting brand, a first for Singapore and the launch of affordable luxury for the hotel scene in Asia.”
Yotel calls its rooms ‘cabins’, and equips them with the basic comforts such as beds, showers and a ‘techno wall’ with flatscreen TVs, multi power points and iPod connectivity. Wi-Fi is free of charge. The Singapore property will also include a ‘Club Lounge’ that acts as meeting space during the day and a restaurant/bar in the evenings, plus an outdoor terrace space with a pool.
Yotel is now present at three European airports – London Heathrow, London Gatwick and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol – and recently launched in central New York.
