First Choice has teamed up with double Olympic gold medallist Laura Trott and Balanceability to launch a new cycling programme in Majorca.
The tour operator is offering children aged from two and a half years up to ride a bike while on holiday at its Holiday Village on the island.
Using Balanceability’s bikes, the course aims to get kids cycling without stabilisers in nine hours.
“We know our customers want a wide range of activities to not only keep the kids entertained when on holiday, but to also give them the chance to learn new skills such as acting, football, swimming and of course cycling – First Choice Holiday Villages offer just that,” said Luke Gaskins, head of product development and delivery for First Choice.
The tour operator will also be hoping to ride off the recent sporting successes in the sport.
Trott added: “Following on from the British success at the London 2012 Olympics and the more recent Tour de France, which saw a Briton win for the second year running, cycling has never been more popular. Our modern environment and time pressures that we face, however, mean that it can sometimes be hard for kids get into cycling from a young age. I’m therefore delighted to be working with First Choice to launch the Balanceability programme at their Holiday Village resort in Majorca.”
