Zimbabwe Tourism Authority organised its first familiarisation (FAM) trip for Indian agents.
A nine member delegation of tour operators from Mumbai and Delhi toured across Zimbabwe, visiting tourist attractions like Harare City, Lake Kariba and Hwange National Park.
“India is an important market for us because their peak travelling period is between November to June when tourist arrivals in Zimbabwe are low. Indians can fill in the gap left by the Europeans and American tourists who usually travel between June and October to Zimbabwe. We at Love for Africa also currently offer the option of E-visa to Indian tourists,” said Blessing Munyenyiwa, managing director at Love for Africa.
Lubaina Sheerazi, head of business development for Blue Square Consultants said, “Zimbabwe is an ideal MICE as well as leisure destination as it boasts of some amazing natural sites and of course the fabulous Victoria Falls. A simplified visa procedure and reduction of visa fees from US$100 to US$50 will go a long way in augmenting Indian arrivals to Zimbabwe.”
