Thailand’s AHMS Hotels will expand its Akyra brand next year, with the launch of a new boutique hotel in Chiang Mai.
The Akyra Manor Chiang Mai is expected to open its doors in the third quarter of 2013, in the Nimmanhaemin area of the city. A collaboration between AHMS and Singapore’s Manor Design Studio, the new property will feature just 29 suites and residences over seven floors, along with a restaurant, bar, swimming pool and meeting room.
And AHMS Hotels’ founder & owner Anchalika Kijkanakorn, explained that she wanted the hotel to be a new social hub in Chiang Mai.
“[The] restaurant will be the place to be seen in downtown Chiang Mai, with a state-of-the-art show kitchen and an amazing line-up of cuisine,” she said. “The hotel will also have Thailand’s first organic rooftop nursery and a ‘Slow Food’ concept, which means we grow most of our own ingredients.
“It will also have a very cool bar by the pool which will become the place in Chiang Mai to meet,” she added.
The rooms will spacious, with a minimum size of 100m² and featuring balconies, gardens and outdoor bathtubs, along with original artwork, which guests will be able to purchase.
Akyra Manor Chiang Mai will be AHMS’ fifth resort in Thailand, following two existing properties in Koh Samui, one in Phuket and one Hua Hin.
