The managing director of Ski Solutions is confident the industry will see a rebound this year after last week seeing its biggest single trading day in 27 years.
Craig Burton has said the company expects the 2013/14 season to be strong for ski holidays, with the company seeing its best trading day in nearly three decades on Tuesday (17 September).
Advanced bookings at Ski Solutions are up 23% compared to last year with some peak dates close to selling out.
W’s opening in Verbier is said to be fuelling interest for the Swiss destination, while those further afield including Canada’s Whistler and Banff are proving popular.
Burton said there is an increase in consumer confidence as well as a return to traditional operators.
“In the past, consumer behavior shifted towards the independent booking of ski and snow sport holidays due to a perception that this was more cost effective. However, the reality is that specialist tour operators like Ski Solutions can offer tighter pricing on holidays and bespoke packages due to our long-existing relationships with resorts and suppliers and our in-depth expertise,” added Burton.
