An Angry Birds activity park has opened in Gran Canaria, the fourth in the world.
The new park has been launched in the south of the island in the Holiday Club Canarias and includes new café and birthday services.
“This new endeavour will certainly add value to the Puerto Rico resort area and will bring in more visitors. Apart from being a significant tourist attraction, it will also serve the local people and create new job opportunities”, said Calvin Lucock, managing director of Holiday Club Canarias.
Holiday Club’s CEO added that the addition was part of a strategy to focus on more activities at its hotels.
“The European travel industry should concentrate more on contents”, said Vesa Tengman, CEO of Holiday Club Resorts. “Too often the focus is on accommodation – of which there is already an oversupply. Active holidays are pivotal to Holiday Club. The Angry Birds Activity Parks complement our concept, which offers high quality holiday accommodation, services and year-round activity possibilities.”
