The ArcelorMittal Orbit has opened ticket sales to the travel trade ahead of its opening in April.
The East London sculpture, designed by Anish Kapoor for the Olympic Games, will open as part of the redeveloped Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on 4 April.
The sculpture will act as an attraction as well as an events spaces and wedding venue, with two viewing platforms. The highest will offer views from 80 metres high, while a new building on ground level will offer more events space and a café for visitors.
Victoria Martin, general manager of the ArcelorMittal Orbit said a new trade portal is now live offering trade bookings, with tickets on sale to the public from January.
“Our trade portal is now live and we are building relationships with group operators, plus we will also team up with those nearby such as Westfield for packages,” she added.
Tickets will start from GBP15 per adult; GBP12 for concessions and GBP7 for children, or a family ticket for two adults and two children is GBP40.
Technology will feature heavily in the sculpture’s visitor experience with free WiFi allowing visitors to share what they are seeing in real-time.
An augmented reality app for iPads and ‘tweet seats’ are all potential features that the attraction could have.
During the Olympic Games more than 5,000 visited the sculpture each day.
