The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has joined forces with Google for a major new social media campaign intended to create the world’s largest online photo album.
Known as ‘ThailandOnly (share to the world)’, the campaign will run from now until 10 December 2013, and will invite visitors to share their Thai holiday photos via Google+, using the hashtag #ThailandOnly.
“We are expecting this campaign to be a huge success. If the numbers are large enough, we hope to set a Guinness World Record for the largest online photo album,” said Apichart Inpongpan, the TAT’s deputy governor for policy & planning.
“I would like all Thais to help us promote this project by telling their friends, families, and both Thai and foreign visitors who love Thailand that they can create history by taking photos of tourist attractions and traditions in Thailand and uploading them onto Google+,” he added.
In connection with the campaign, the TAT will host a ‘ThailandOnly Loi Kratong Photowalk’ at Bangkok’s riverside shopping centre, Asiatique, on 17 November 2013.
The initiative marks the latest phase of the TAT’s online and social media marketing drive. The tourist board has recently launched a series online games and mobile applications.
