Thailand’s Akaryn Hospitality Management Services (AHMS) has held a series of fundraising events to support the conservation of sea turtles.
At its boutique hotels in Koh Samui, Phuket and Hua Hin, AHMS’s environmental charity, the Pure Blue Foundation, recently staged its annual fundraising events to help secure the future of the leatherback turtle, by nurturing and releasing them into the Andaman Sea.
“We are very pleased to note that these co-ordinated events managed to raise over THB300,000 (US$9,050), and over THB2 million to date since Pure Blue Foundation’s inception in 2010,” revealed AHMS’s founder & managing director, Anchalika Kijkanakorn.
“This is at the absolute core of what we do – to improve the environment and communities in which we operate and sustain them and their beauty for future generations,” she added.
Fundraising activities included charity casino events, gala dinners, charity auctions and beach parties.
