New Greenfield Airport planned in Andhra Pradesh

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has approved to set up a new Greenfield Airport in Andhra Pradesh.
The MoCA has granted ‘site clearnace’ to Prakasham Airport Pvt Ltd for setting up the new airport at Ongole, Prakasham district in Andhra Pradesh. In the last three years, the government has granted ‘in principle’ approval to three Greenfield projects namely, Karaikal in Pudducherry (2011), Shirdi, Maharashtra (2011) and Aranmula, Kerala (2012).
All the necessary action for project development, including acquisition of land and financing of the airport project is taken by the respective airport promoter.
