Dubai recently got a glimpse of the City of Lyon’s Festival of Lights (Fête des Lumières de Lyon) at the inaugural Dubai Festival of Lights events. The event has been organised by Emaar Properties at Downtown Dubai. The festival offers visitors a showcase of more than 30 lighting and artistic installations until 29 March 2014.
The artistic lights cover alleyways and public spaces, creating a never-before seen visually creative spectacle. The highlight of the ‘Dubai Festival of Lights’ is a specially commissioned piece by artist and fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, whose piece ‘Metropolis Mirage’ lights up the bridge at Souk Al Bahar.
Ahmad Al Matrooshi, managing director, Emaar Properties PJSC, said: “The festival is as much about brilliance of illumination as about artistic creativity, offering visitors an experience.
