Starwood Hotels & Resorts has opened a new Sheraton hotel in Melbourne.
Located on Little Collins Street in the centre of Australia’s second biggest city, the new Sheraton Melbourne Hotel marks the brand’s return to Victoria’s state capital after a nine-year absence.
Housed in a 31-storey building, the hotel has 174 rooms and suites, all featuring interactive LED Smart TVs with Wi-Fi connectivity.
Hotel facilities include a restaurant, rooftop bar, heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, fitness centre and a spa with five treatment rooms. The hotel also features six meeting rooms, able to host groups of between 12 and 400 people.
“Sheraton Melbourne Hotel is a great addition to Starwood’s outstanding portfolio of hotels in the Pacific,” said Sean Hunt, Starwood’s regional vice president for the Pacific region. “As Sheraton embarks on another year of record-breaking growth, the opening of the Sheraton Melbourne Hotel will further reinforce the Sheraton as the most global hotel brand, as well as pave ways for the growth of other Starwood hotel brands in the Pacific.”
The Sheraton Melbourne becomes the first of five new Sheratons to open in Oceania in 2014. Others include the Sheraton Resort & Spa Tokoriki Island in Fiji, Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Resort, Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Hotel & Bungalows and Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Resort & Spa.
