Rotana Jet will continue its international expansion over the next two years, targeting new destinations in the SAMENA region.
Dr Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saif Al Nahayan, Chairman of Rotana Jet, said; “We are planning to increase our destinations in the region and to expand our fleet to meet the growing demand for private and business jet operations.”
The announcement came from Colombo last week where Rotana Jet launched new services, connecting Al Bateen Airport in Abu Dhabi, to Mattala and Colombo in Sri Lanka.
Speaking from Colombo, Shaikh Ahmad said the company intends to expand executive charter services to Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, India and Pakistan, by 2016.
The Abu Dhabi-based charter company currently operates flights to Bahrain, Muscat, Salalah, Sir Bani Yas Island, Fujairah, Delma, and Dubai.
Since it was founded in 2010, the carrier has grown its network to 12 destination, with five aircraft, including the newly acquired Airbus A319 and Embraer EMB 145. Management say they carried around 6,000 passengers across the Middle East last year.
