Australia’s Mantra Group has continued its push into Asia with the launch of the region’s first ever Peppers hotel.
The company has taken over the management of the luxury Sentosa Seminyak resort, and rebranded it as the Peppers Sentosa Seminyak. The property features 177 rooms including 49 three-, four- and five-bedroom villas, each with its own private pool.
The company also plans to add eight more one- and two-bedroom villas in the second half of 2014, while refurbishing the remaining rooms.
Facilities at the new resort will include a spa and the Salt tapas bar, created by Australian celebrity chef Luke Mangan.
Peppers Sentosa Seminyak becomes Mantra’s second opening in Bali, following the brand new Mantra Nusa Dua, which opened in 2013 and marked the company’s first foray into Asia.
Mantra is hoping to use its extensive brand recognition in Australia, where it operates more than 100 hotels, to drive business to its Balinese resorts. It eventually intends to bring all three of its brands – BreakFree, Mantra and Peppers – to Bali.
