Thailand’s southern resort province of Krabi could become the latest beneficiary of the Chinese travel boom, after an airline announced plans to fly direct to Krabi Airport from Shanghai.
Juneyao Airlines will commence scheduled flights from Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport on 21 June 2014. The service will operate three times a week using an Airbus A320 aircraft, providing a total of 474 seats per week in both directions.
According to Juneyao, flights will depart Pudong Airport every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 2020, arriving at Krabi International Airport 0030 the next day. The return service will leave the Thai resort town every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 0130, getting back into Shanghai at 0730.
Krabi will become Juneyao’s fourth destination in Thailand, following Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai.
