Hotel management company, Alila Hotels and Resorts, has opened its first property in the Middle East region with the launch of the Alila Jabal Akhdar resort.
The luxury hotel is located in the mountainous region of Al Jabal Akhdar in Oman, and is owned by leading tourism related investment‚ development and management company, Omran.
The property is a 2.5 hour drive from Muscat, and offers 78 Suites and 2 Jabal Villas, a cliff-side restaurant, pool, Spa Alila and gym. The property was designed to minimise impact on its environment and uses locally sourced materials and traditional artisanal craftsmanship. The architecture incorporates elements of Omani design and construction techniques combined with a contemporary minimalist style.
Salim Al Mamari, Director General of Tourism Promotion, Oman Ministry of Tourism said: “The upscale resort in the spectacular Jabal Akhdar mountain region definitely complements the government’s initiative to promote the country’s luxury hospitality segment to the world. With the resort’s opening, we now expect to see an influx of adventurers, travellers, and nature lovers across the globe, giving inbound and local tourism a qualitative additional boost.”
