Tourism authorities from southwest China’s Sichuan province have penned a series of major deals in Hong Kong, aimed at boosting tourism between the two regions.
On 10 July, the Tourism Administration of Sichuan Province gathered 200 industry leaders and members of the media to its Sichuan Tourist & Investment Promotion event in Hong Kong, in an effort to drive interest in Sichuan among Hong Kong’s tourism sector.
And during the event it concluded agreements with several major Hong Kong tour companies to operate 300 charter flight tours to Sichuan.
In addition, Sichuan penned and agreement with Hong Kong’s Travel Industry Council regarding tourist safety, complaint handling and emergency communication, while cooperation agreements were signed regarding the development of the entertainment industry and self-driving tours.
Finally, a traditional Chinese version of Sichuan’s official tourism website (tsichuan.com) has now been launched, and a new Sichuan tourism store has opened in Causeway Way, in an effort to promote tourism to the province.
