Taj Hotels MD and CEO steps down

The Indian Hotels Company (Taj Group of Hotels) has announced Raymond Bickson will step down as managing director and CEO later this month.
Bickson will leave the luxury hotel chain on 31 August after 11 years leading the firm, to pursue interests elsewhere.
Under his tenure the group has grown to 127 hotels on five continents under four brands: Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces, Vivanta by Taj, Gateway Hotels and Ginger Hotels.
Rakesh Sarna will join as managing director and CEO on 1 September to steer the group forward both in India and internationally.
Sarna joins from Hyatt Hotels where he was group president of Americas and executive vice president of Hyatt Hotels Corporation. Under this role he was responsible for more than 370 properties across North America, Lain America and the Caribbean while also instrumental in development in APAC, Europe, Middle East, Africa and South West Asia, particularly China, India, Brazil and Mexico.
