The Government of Brunei has denied any involvement in plans to buy the Grosvenor House hotel.
Authorities issued a statement saying the government and Sultan had no plans to purchase the London hotel after rumours circulated around the sale last week.
The rumours also focused on the Plaza and Dream Downtown hotels in New York.
It was claimed Grosvenor House was up for sale in an Indian court related to its current owner Subrata Roy and the Sahara Group.
Roy has been in prison for the last five months due to not appearing for a contempt charge in an ongoing dispute over the company’s non-repayment of billions of dollars to people who were sold outlawed bonds.
