NAM Air will today commence daily flights between Yogyakarta and Palembang, South Sumatram, meaning travellers no longer need to connect via Jakarta.
NAM Air, a Sriwijaya Air subsidiary, will be operating a Boeing B737-500 aircraft to serve the route with eight business class seats and 112 economy seats. The first leg flight will depart Adisucipto Airport in Yogyakarta at 1035 and arrive at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II in Palembang at 1215. The aircraft will then return from Palembang at 1435, arriving in Yogyakarta at 1615.
Sriwijaya Air senior corporate communications manager, Agus Soedjono, told the Jakarta Post growing demand between these cities would drive healthy load factors.
