Uniworld Boutique River Cruises will introduce a new collection of Ganges cruises in 2016.
As part of its new brochure, the company has launched a new ‘India’s Golden Triangle & the Sacred Ganges’ itinerary, taking guests from New Delhi to Kolkata. The 12-night tour includes seven nights onboard the new all-suite Ganges Voyager II river cruise boat, while land accommodation will be provided by Oberoi Hotels & Resorts in New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.
“India is one of the world’s most complex, colourful and exotic destinations,” said Guy Young, president of Uniworld. “To experience a 5,000-year-old civilisation first-hand and to explore its spiritual heartland, all while staying at some of the world’s most spectacular hotels and sailing onboard our new all-suite ship, is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our well-travelled guests.”
The new Ganges Voyager II has a capacity of 56 guests and includes an ultra-luxury 37m² Maharaja Suite, plus two 33m² Viceroy Suites, 26m² Heritage Suites and 20 24m² Standard Suites, all with balconies and spacious bathrooms. The Maharaja Suite also has a bathtub.
Public areas of the vessel include a lounge, observation deck, spa, fitness centre and restaurant.
The 12-day itinerary will include trips to the Taj Mahal, the fortresses and palaces of Rajasthan and Mother Teresa’s tomb in Kolkata, plus a range of other landmarks and attractions.
“This itinerary is ideal for travellers seeking exotic new horizons, something completely unlike anything else they’ve ever experienced,” said Young. “India is an amazing, unforgettable place. It’s a journey our guests will rave about the rest of their lives.”
