The 2014 Arab Aviation and Media Summit (AAMS) announced its list of speakers for its fourth edition. The event is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah at the Hamra Convention Center in Ras Al Khaimah.
The apt theme designed for this year focuses on Aviation and Tourism: Common Vision and Purpose. This issue will be discussed by local and regional industry experts highlighting the symbiotic relationship between tourism and aviation as well as its impact on social and economic growth of the Arab world.
Guest speakers include HE Engr Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, chairman – Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), Ras Al Khaimah; Abdul Wahab Teffaha, secretary general – Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO); Laila Ali Bin Hareb Al Muhari, asisstant director general – general strategy and international affairs, UAE General Civil Aviation Authority; Fouad Attar, managing director, Airbus Middle East ; Paul-Frank Bijou, CEO – Airbus Prosky; Steven Rice, CEO – RAK Tourism & Development Authority; Adel A Ali, Group CEO – Air Arabia; Hussein Dabbas, regional vice president – International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Ivan Jakovljevic, head of travel – Google among others.
Adel A Ali, group chief executive officer of Air Arabia said: “In the GCC and wider Arab World, there is strong potential for consistent growth in both aviation and tourism sectors which will bring employment opportunities and encourage investment into the region. The discussion will provide insight as to how future opportunities in the region can be captured which have the potential to provide widespread benefits across the Arab world.”
