Croatia has continued to see an increase in British and Irish tourists visit its cities and resorts.
Augusut figures released by the Croatian National Tourist Office (CNTO) showed 99, 283 British visitors headed to the country, up 7% compared to August 2013. The number of Irish tourists increased 23% to 10, 609.
From January to August the British tourist count has gone up 10% to 331, 072 while Irish numbers for the period have increased 19% to 35, 404.
“We have continued to see strong visitor figures from the UK and Ireland to Croatia in 2014, which adds to the three previous consecutive years of growth,” said Tonko Rilovic, UK and Ireland director of the CNTO.
“Following a successful summer, we are determined to build on Croatia’s continued popularity among the UK and Irish markets. We will be focusing on highlighting Croatia’s suitability as a year-round destination and placing a heightened importance on those destinations which can be visited outside the high season,” he added.
