Air Seychelles has announced plans to launch direct flights to Mumbai.
Commencing on 2 December 2014, the new service will operate three times a week, using a two-class Airbus A320 aircraft configured with 16 seats in business class and 120 in economy.
Flights will depart Mahe every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday at 2045, arriving in Mumbai at 0255 the next morning. The return service will then operate every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 0400, arriving back into the Seychelles at 0655.
The flight times are intended to allow passengers to arrive in India in the morning and connect to other Indian destinations, such as Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi.
“Our new Mumbai schedule has been purposely designed to offer business and leisure travellers from India convenient and direct access to the Seychelles islands,” said Manoj Papa, Air Seychelles’ CEO. “Seychelles is an increasingly attractive market for international investors, with many ambitious tourism, property and infrastructure developments planned over the coming years.
“Bringing Mumbai into our growing organic network is also a direct result of our strategic partnership with Etihad Airways, and how together, we have worked to increase travel options for the benefit of our combined customers, whilst benefiting trade and tourism at each end,” he added.
The new service will bring the total number of regional destinations served by Air Seychelles to five, along with Antananarivo, Dar es Salaam, Johannesburg and Mauritius.
