Wyndham has launched its first ever Tryp hotel in the Asia Pacific region.
The new Tryp by Fortitude Valley in Brisbane officially opened its doors recently on the Queensland city’s Constance Street. An upscale four-storey property, the new Tryp features 65 rooms, a restaurant, rooftop bar and meeting space.
But the main talking point of the hotel will be its striking displays of street art, with four local artists having been assigned to decorate each floor of the hotel.
“Tryp by Wyndham Fortitude Valley was our opportunity to deliver a completely new and unique experience to the Brisbane accommodation sector,” said Jay McPhee, the hotel’s owner and developer. “The finished product is exceptional and has exceeded all of our expectations. We firmly believe the Tryp by Wyndham brand is the perfect fit for this product, thanks to its celebration of the one-of-a-kind cities in which properties are located.”
Barry Robinson, president & managing director for Wyndham Hotel Group in Southeast Asia & Pacific Rim, added that Tryp would provide a new “value-driven option for both corporate travellers and leisure-seekers”.
Wyndham acquired the Tryp brand from Sol Melia in 2010 and has since gone about developing a portfolio of modern upscale urban properties in Europe and the Americas. Other major cities with Tryp hotels include Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Buenos Aires, Berlin, Sao Paulo and New York.
Tryp by Wyndham Fortitude Valley also joins 15 Wyndham’s existing collection 11 hotels in Australia, under the Wyndham and Ramada brands.
