ABTA 14: Thomson launches new 18-35 brand

Thomson has launched a new brand aimed at those in the 18-35 age bracket.
The company will ditch the 2wentys brand as part of the new ‘Thomson Scene’ offering, which includes 86 hotels in 34 resorts including Croatia, Goa and Cancun.
Young holidaymakers looking for affordable hotels in the centre of the nightlife will be targeted through the Scene Hub hotels while those looking for design-led properties a little away from the clubs will be directed to the Scene Style hotels.
David Burling, managing director at TUI UK & Ireland said the brand will predominantly feature established hotels such as the Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel but could work with others to develop its own concepts.
Speaking at the launch he said: “We recognise that there is demand for an 18-35 brand that wants something more sophisticated and style-led. In these hotels you’d find Bali beds by the pool during the day and cocktail bars at night in some of the trendiest locations in Europe. The real opportunity is that we can develop the portfolio and it allows us to build on our differentiated product.”
